IMGS 2022 will be held at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd), which is in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, a bustling, quirky area full of history. The RCSEd has been part of this area of town since the 1600s and have been resident in the current location since 1832. It is considered one of the oldest surgical corporations in the world.

The conference will be located in the Surgeons Quarter, the commercial arm of the RCSEd. Surgeons Quarter runs all the event spaces as well as the onsite hotel, Ten Hill Place. All financial profits made are funded back into the College itself to promote patient care and surgical training around the world. The first building you encounter on entering our Quarter is the impressive Playfair Building which dates back to the early 1800s.  On either side of the Playfair Building are the contemporary Quincentenary and Prince Philip Buildings.  Nestled at the back of the Quarter is the historic King Khalid Building, originally a church, this building has been sympathetically converted to provide excellent plenary and break out space while retaining its historical features.

The most cutting-edge addition to the Quarter is our hotel, Ten Hill Place, which was extended and refurbished to a high-standard in 2018. Providing excellent accommodation as well as a stylish bar and restaurant, the hotel’s peaceful and relaxing environment provides the perfect retreat for rest and recuperation following a busy conference day.
