We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Edinburgh for the 19th International Medical Geography Symposium (IMGS). The IMGS is the pre-eminent meeting of health geographers and others from other disciplines with interests in the connections between health and place. It began in Nottingham UK in 1985 and since then has largely cycled between the UK, Canada and the United States biennially. It has only been held outside those countries three times (Germany, France and New Zealand).

The IMGS 2022 will be held at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, which is in the heart of medieval Edinburgh’s Old Town, and together with the 18th century New Town, forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The organising committee welcomes everyone interested in environmental health, health policy, urban and rural health, global health, health equity, public health, and relevant research methods to join us in Edinburgh from 19th to 24th June, 2022
